Rwanda has established a Refugee Status Appeals Tribunal

Rwanda has established a Refugee Status Appeals Tribunal to handle appeals from individuals who are not satisfied with the initial decisions made by the Refugee Status Determination Committee regarding their refugee status.  The country has over 130 refugees, most from DR Congo and Burundi. This new appeals tribunal will ensure a fair and transparent process for those seeking refugee status in Rwanda.  The tribunal was put in place by Prime Ministerial Order published in the National Gazette.
